Tatham Fells Primary School may not be the loveliest building in the
Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but it has an
unbeatable view of the Lake District, including England's highest mountain,
Scafell Pike

Tatham Fells old school, and the Church of the Good Shepherd

Only the ground between the camera and the Great Stone of Fourstones
is in Tatham!
A linear walk over the skyline summits makes a wonderful expedition.

Helks Bank, with Ingleborough prominent on the skyline, Whernside far left, and
Penyghent just visible above the sheep.

Whitray, Botton Head and Dicksons farms - the three remotest in Tatham
Fells - with Lythe Fell on the skyline. You can also see (in the enlargement,
between the red Xs) the line of
the old Roman road which crosses the Forest of Bowland from Ribchester
and continues north through Lowgill village.

Tower near the summit of White Hill,
highest point in Tatham Fells. Wolfhole Crag and Ward's Stone on the skyline.
The tower (and two similar towers nearby) mark the course of the
Haweswater aqueduct tunnel far below the ground. This is where the water ends
its 2½-mile journey through Tatham Fells.
